After collecting lots of feedback from previous Cloud series gaming headsets, Kingston released HyperX Cloud Revolver headset in 2017, which is more comfortable and better sound performance. However, the disadvantage is that this headset doesn’t have Dolby sound. One year later, Kingston released an upgraded version: HyperX Cloud Revolver S with Dolby Headphone technology.

Packaging
From the product picture on the package, the appearance of this new HyperX Cloud Revolver S gaming headset has not changed significantly from the previous version, and even the design of the package box has been almost completely retained. Dolby Headphone technology is implemented with this external USB sound card. The front two large buttons are the Dolby switch button and MIC mute toggle, and the function comes with a red backlight. I also tested several 5.1-channel movies to test the virtual 7.1 of HyperX Cloud Revolver S headset. (The fact you should know, the film itself is 5.1 channel, but the headset’s cable is 3.5mm, so at most, it is a 2.0-channel analog multi-channel, not Physical 7.1-channel.)
