In addition, this headset adds low-latency 2.4G wireless connection technology on the basis of maintaining the HS60’s virtual 7.1 Dolby surround sound. It is fully compatible with PS4 game consoles and has a battery life of 16 hours.

Appearance

The appearance of the Corsair HS70 stereo gaming headset completely inherits the simple and lightweight design of HS50 and HS60.

Except for the Corsair LOGO, which is the only pattern embellishment, the entire HS70 headset has no extra visual elements.

Head Beam

The head beam skeleton of the Corsair HS70 headset is made of metal and the surface has been frosted.

The top of the head beam is wrapped with a plastic shell, and the outermost layer is made of protein leather, which is soft and delicate to the touch.

The inner part of the head beam is also made of protein leather, filled with memory foam, and has good flexibility.

The head beam can be adjusted by 8 scales with a range of 3.5cm, the damping is smooth.

Ear Pads

The ear pads also use the protein skin material, with the internal filling of the memory foam, which can better fit the ears.

Experience

Wearing Experience

After adding components such as a lithium battery and a wireless audio sender, the weight of this headset increases to 340g.

With the flexible head beam, the chuck feeling is relatively small, but as the wearing time goes by, the sense of weight increase is more obvious, it’s not a lightweight gaming headset.

Music & Movie Experience

The music and video performance of this headset are mediocre, it may not satisfy users who have high requirements for sound.

This is because the HS70’s bass dive is insufficient, the high frequencies are also limited, the entire sound field is very narrow. If you turn off the 7.1 channel, the audio experience will be better.

Gaming Experience

I chose PUBG for the game experience, during the gaming, Corsair HS70 has a strong ability to achieve sound localization. In the process of group games with teammates, the microphone’s reception effect has also reached the standard level, and the noise reduction function ensures that the MIC can precisely receive the voice of teammates even in a noisy environment.

In addition, I also briefly experienced this headset on the PS4 platform. Plug the wireless transmitter into the USB port of PS4 and HS70 will automatically be recognized as a headset device. Then, you can use it to play video games.

Wireless Experience

With the 2.4Ghz wireless connection function, the Corsair HS70 headset gets rid of the interference of the wire. With 2 mobile phones around, the HS70 headset can still maintain good audio signal transmission.

In addition, the official stated that the effective connection distance of the Corsair HS70 headset is within 12 meters. In the actual experience, when I move to other rooms, there’s no disconnection.

To the battery life performance, I set the headset to a fixed volume and wirelessly connected it to my notebook, playing music in a loop, the battery lasted for 14.5 hours, which is basically the same as the official 16 hours. When the battery is empty, it takes about 1.5-2 hours to fully charge.
