CORSAIR HS35 Stereo Gaming Headset Review

CORSAIR had released the HS35 Stereo gaming headset in June 2019, adding a new model to its best-selling HS series headset.

HS35 has excellent sound quality and microphone clarity, the price is affordable, and supports multiple gaming platforms, including PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

Today, I’m going to review this HS35 headset from the following aspects.

Packaging

CORSAIR HS35 STEREO gaming headset still uses the classic yellow and black color scheme.

The front of the package is the rendering of the HS35 headset and the supported platforms.

The back of the package is a brief introduction and HS35’s specifications.

Accessories

Accessories include a detachable microphone, female 4-pole 3.5mm to dual male 3-pole Y-adapter, manual guide, and warranty card.

Appearance

The appearance of CORSAIR HS35 continues the simple and lightweight design style of the CORSAIR HS series. The main parts are made of lightweight materials in many aspects. The weight is about 243g with the microphone.

Head Beam

The head beam is made of ABS material, although it is slightly cheaper, after being thermoplastic, it has good elasticity and toughness. And the surface has been frosted, it feels good to the touch, and it also has a good oil and dirt resistance effect.

The inner part of the head beam adopts woven mesh material. Its interior is filled with a very flexible memory foam, which is soft and elastic, which can well reduce the pressure on the head.

The head beam has 9 scales to adjust the length, the adjustment range is about 2.5cm.

In addition, the inner side of the head beam is marked with L/R for users to distinguish.

Earpads

CORSAIR HS35 earpads also adapt the same woven mesh material as the head beam. The soft breathable earpads and the internal memory foam padding can provide a better fit and comfort when wearing.

Its large ear cups can also completely wrap the user’s ears, bringing good noise isolation, so that users can better immerse themselves in games and music.

The removable earpads are also very convenient for maintenance and replacement.

Buttons & Interfaces

The left ear cup has a volume knob, a microphone mute button, and a microphone interface. The damping feel of the knob is mediocre, but the microphone mute button feels good when pressed. The manufacturer added a rubber dust cover to the microphone interface.

MIC

The Discord certified microphone is detachable for convenient storage. This unidirectional noise-canceling MIC can not only reduce the external noise but also ensure clarity.

Audio Driver

CORSAIR HS35 equipped with 2 specially customized 50mm neodymium audio drivers, they can bring a good wide sound field range. It can excellently reflect the treble, midrange, and bass, giving a delicate sense of hierarchy and harmony.

Experience

Wearing Experience

In terms of actual wearing, the woven mesh earpads and head beam’s inner filling can bring a good sense of comfort. Due to the HS35’s lightweight design and adaptive adjustment structure, there is no obvious pressure on the head and ears.

Sound Experience

Thanks to the 50mm neodymium audio drivers, the sound experience of the CORSAIR HS35 STEREO gaming headset is very balanced. The 50mm audio driver can better express the sound field range, the low-frequency control is also very good, the gamers can easily distinguish the sound from various directions.
